Underwriter

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Underwriter III based in the United States. This role is responsible for underwriting a broad range of residential mortgage loan products while ensuring sound risk assessment and regulatory compliance.You will independently review loan files, evaluate borrower financial information, and make underwriting decisions based on established standards.The position covers conventional, FHA, VA, USDA, new construction, condominium, and other specialized loan programs.You will work closely with Loan Processors and Loan Officers to resolve documentation gaps and move applications toward completion.As a senior-level underwriting resource, you will also handle complex escalations and provide guidance to less experienced team members.The role requires strong judgment, attention to detail, regulatory knowledge, and the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment.You will operate with a high degree of independence while serving as a subject matter expert when senior underwriting leadership is unavailable.
