ABOUT THE ROLE

We're looking for a Trader to join our Portfolio Trading team, the group responsible for the daily execution of Wealthsimple's suite of managed portfolios. The team executes large block orders across Equities and ETFs in Canada and the USA, working closely with counterparties to minimize market impact and achieve best execution for our clients, while also managing the firm's foreign exchange risk.

In this role, you'll be at the centre of that effort, sourcing liquidity, managing order flow, and helping ensure every trade we place reflects Wealthsimple's commitment to putting clients first. You'll also build and refine the operational processes that keep our trading infrastructure running, write queries that surface meaningful business intelligence, and partner with teams across the organization to solve problems that have real impact.

At Wealthsimple, we move quickly and build thoughtfully and we're looking for someone who's energized by that pace.

- Drive post-incident remediation alongside Portfolio Managers, Client Success, and Core Operations.

- Create, optimize, and automate business processes to improve productivity, reduce errors, and lower transactional costs.

- Implement and monitor metrics for critical operational and trading processes.

- Partner with Core Operations, Data Science, and Engineering to continuously improve upstream and downstream workflows, including reconciliation, policy development, and procedure execution.

- Troubleshoot issues end-to-end: identify root causes, resolve them, and build systems so they don't recur.
