We are seeking a Senior Manager, Finance Systems & Transformation to lead end-to-end finance transformation initiatives across multiple lines of business within a complex enterprise environment. This role is responsible for driving the design and execution of finance systems modernization, process optimization, and operating model transformation—primarily within an SAP S/4HANA ecosystem—while ensuring alignment with enterprise strategy and business outcomes.
The ideal candidate is a strategic finance transformation leader with deep experience in SAP-enabled finance, strong business acumen, and the ability to partner with senior finance, IT, and business leaders to deliver scalable, sustainable solutions. This role balances hands-on execution, program leadership, and stakeholder influence across a portfolio of initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Finance Transformation Leadership
- Lead finance transformation initiatives across multiple lines of business, ensuring alignment to enterprise finance strategy, target operating model, and technology roadmap.
- Own end-to-end delivery of complex, cross-functional transformation programs, including process redesign, system enhancements, and organizational change.
- Act as a thought leader on SAP-enabled finance capabilities, evaluating new technologies and innovations to improve efficiency, control, and decision-making.
- Translate business strategy into executable finance transformation requirements with measurable outcomes.
Program & Portfolio Delivery
- Provide senior-level leadership for concurrent finance transformation initiatives (e.g., M&A integration, system modernization, regulatory-driven change, and enterprise programs).
- Partner closely with IT, external vendors, and system integrators to ensure successful delivery across design, build, testing, deployment, and stabilization.
- Establish strong governance, risk management, and dependency management across initiatives.
- Drive disciplined execution through clear milestones, issue resolution, and escalation management.
Business Partnership & Stakeholder Management
- Serve as a trusted advisor to Finance across business units, ensuring solutions address both enterprise and line-of-business needs.
- Influence and guide stakeholders through complex change, balancing standardization with business flexibility.
- Build and maintain strong relationships across Finance, IT, and other enabling functions.
Finance Systems & Process Optimization
- Lead requirement gathering sessions, along with current-state assessments and future-state design across various lines of business
- Identify key dependencies, both functional and technical, which may impact initiatives
- Ensure solutions are aligned to SAP best practices while meeting compliance, control, and reporting requirements.
- Drive adoption of standardized processes and data models across business units.
- Oversee development of documentation, operating procedures, and training strategies to support long-term sustainability.
Data, Controls & Integration Oversight
- Execute and drive financial data migration, validation, reconciliation, and integrity across system changes.
- Ensure transformations adhere to internal controls, audit requirements, and regulatory expectations.
- Partner with data, integration, and analytics teams to enable accurate, timely, and actionable financial insights.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, or finance systems or relevant field.
- 4+ years of experience with SAP ERP solutions, with deep exposure to SAP S/4HANA Finance.
- Proven experience leading cross-functional, multi-line-of-business initiatives in a matrixed environment.
- Strong understanding of finance processes, internal controls, and enterprise-scale systems.
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead through ambiguity.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills with an executive presence.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading enterprise finance transformations (e.g., ERP modernization, shared services, global process standardization).
- Exposure to M&A integration, divestitures, or large-scale enterprise programs.
- Experience with analytics and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, SAP Analytics Cloud).
- Familiarity with Agile, hybrid, or waterfall delivery models.
- Prior experience working with system integrators or external consulting partners.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field or equivalent years of experience is required.
- Master’s degree (MBA, MS Finance, or equivalent) preferred.
- SAP S/4HANA Finance or related certifications are a plus.
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$67,900.00 - $182,549.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
