The Senior Systems Administrator is a critical component in managing and scaling Avicado's internal technology environment, ensuring our systems are secure, reliable, and built to support continued growth. This role is focused on platform administration within the Microsoft ecosystem and will play a key role in building, optimizing, and maintaining M365, Entra ID, and Azure environments.
An ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, operate with a high level of ownership, and thrive in a remote, fast-paced environment.
SUCCESS IN THIS ROLE (FIRST 3–6 MONTHS)
- Stabilize and optimize M365 tenant, Entra ID, and Azure environments.
- Build scalable solutions within the Microsoft ecosystem to support company growth.
- Establish clear documentation and contribute to the internal knowledge base.
- Partner with the IT team to support enterprise client projects.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Administer and manage Microsoft 365 environments, including licensing, user management, and application support.
- Own and maintain Entra ID (Azure AD), including identity, access, and security configurations.
- Build, configure, and manage Azure environments to support internal systems and development needs.
- Support DevOps workflows by enabling integrations with Microsoft Graph and related services.
- Utilize tools such as Graph Explorer and PnP PowerShell to automate and enhance system capabilities.
- Design and implement scalable solutions within the Microsoft ecosystem.
- Monitor system performance, security, and reliability — proactively identifying and resolving issues.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align platform capabilities with business needs.
- Document system architecture, configurations, and processes.
- Provide guidance and recommendations on best practices across Microsoft platforms.
- Partner with leadership to continuously improve internal technology infrastructure.
- Other duties as assigned related to GCP.
REQUIREMENTS
- 5+ years of experience in systems administration, with a focus on Microsoft environments.
- Deep experience with Microsoft 365 administration, including licensing and application management.
- Strong expertise in Entra ID (Azure AD), including identity and access management.
- Hands-on experience building and managing Azure environments.
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Experience supporting DevOps workflows and integrating systems using Microsoft Graph.
- Proficiency with PowerShell, including PnP PowerShell.
- Experience with Graph Explorer or similar tools for API interaction and automation.
- Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, security, and system architecture.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
- Ability
