Remote Accounting

Responsible for preparing quarterly and annual statutory financial statements in accordance with statutory accounting principles and state, federal and NAIC regulations. Provide management with financial information and analysis.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  1. Prepare quarterly and annual statutory financial statements
  2. Prepare, maintain, and distribute monthly, quarterly, and year end checklist schedules
  3. Develop analysis of financial results to management
  4. Update and revise quarterly and annual statement systems and procedures
  5. Update and revise systems used for collecting and reporting information
  6. Determine proper accounting treatment of unusual financial events
  7. Keep updated on statutory reporting requirements 
  8. Prepare entries for monthly reporting
  9. Assist Financial Reporting Manager with special projects
  10. Assist Financial Reporting Manager with reinsurance reconciliations
  11. Prepare and process corporate state filings
  12. Act as liaison for external auditors

 

 

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE: 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. CPA or MBA desirable
  • Minimum 2 years of public accounting or financial industry accounting experience required

 

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

 

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 
  • Advanced Excel
  • Understanding statutory accounting in insurance preferred
  • Experience working in general ledger and reporting software preferred
