Specialist Backend Developer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Specialist Backend Developer based in Brazil. As a Specialist Backend Developer, you will lead some of the most technically demanding evolutions of a critical financial platform, focusing on reliability, consistency, scalability, and secure transaction processing. You will design solutions for complex systems involving money movement, regulated integrations, reconciliation, and high-risk operational flows. The role combines deep backend engineering with architectural decision-making, technical influence, incident resolution, and continuous improvement. You will establish robust integration contracts, testing strategies, observability practices, and technical standards while remaining close to implementation. You will also help shape how AI coding agents are incorporated into the development lifecycle, ensuring productivity gains are matched by quality and governance. Working remotely with Engineering, Product, Operations, Finance, and Compliance, you will have significant autonomy and influence over the platform’s technical direction.
