Description:

We’re looking for a highly creative Senior Writer to join Heart Haus, the internal agency within CVS Health. The ideal candidate will be an experienced and passionate content and marketing creative writer to lend their expertise to our CVS Pharmacy Retail and Health Services business unit. The right candidate will embrace our brand voice and elevate the impact of B2C and B2B content, including integrated campaigns, email, digital and social content, activations, and video. In this role you will work on highly visible and strategic marketing projects and act as a lead copywriter within the group.

Your success will hinge on your ability to collaborate and communicate within Heart Haus with your creative leads and other writers and designers, as well as marketing strategists, account lead, delivery managers, and business partners. You should also have a strong attention to detail, excellent communication and organizational skills and the ability to stay on top of multiple projects simultaneously.

The ideal candidate will have a portfolio filled with relevant writing and creative examples. Portfolio link and/or creative examples must be submitted with resume for consideration.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Act as a lead copywriter, and effectively help manage relationships with marketing partners and stakeholders to ensure a clear understanding of project objectives.

  • Write creative and effective copy according to project specifications and creative brief from start-to-finish, in plain language standards, and follow brand and voice guidelines.

  • Gain a deep understanding of our CVS Pharmacy and Health Services marketing portfolio, including in-depth knowledge of products and services, competitive landscape, industry, audience and overall business environment and objectives.

  • Successfully deliver on a range of channel deliverables, including but not limited to print, digital, email, social and video assets.

  • Engage in cross-functional collaboration with teams across Heart Haus, the Marketing organization and other Stakeholders.

  • Ensure successful execution of all writing projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and meet the required quality standards.

  • Translate complex topics to create clear, concise, and impactful content that resonates with intended audiences.

  • Exhibit outstanding writing judgment to achieve the highest possible standards for all materials, regardless of medium.

  • Ensure compliance with all branding guidelines, compliance and legal requirements.

  • Help mentor and guide lower level writers.

This role can be done remotely from anywhere in the US with the expectation of working EST hours. If in the Rhode Island/MA geography, a small portion of this team does sit in offices and there would be an expectation for occasional in office work.

Required Qualifications:

  • Portfolio links and/or writing samples must be included with resume for consideration.

  • 5-7+ years of creative writing experience for big brands within an external agency or in-house creative/agency team.

  • B2C and B2B writing experience.

  • Top-notch creative writing skills, including proper punctuation, spelling and grammar.

  • Must be a strong strategic thinker with the ability to understand a marketing brief and translate that input into ideas.

  • Proficiency with AP or Chicago Manual of Style.

  • Experience writing applications in traditional and emerging channels.

  • Experience adapting style of copy to various audiences, purposes, or media.

  • Knowledge of compliance and legal requirements (disclaimers) surrounding copy.

  • Willingness to embrace and incorporate AI tools into your workflow.

  • Team player with enthusiasm and positive attitude.

  • Strong collaboration skills.

  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to sell in creative ideas.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Must have the ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 Suite.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Retail and Health Care experience is preferred.

  • Knowledge of working for a large, complex client organization and/or creative marketing agencies or organizations.

  • Experience with MRM tools (i.e. Workfront).

Education:

High School Diploma or GED required.

Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Journalism, English, Creative Writing, Communications, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$66,330.00 - $145,860.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
