What We're Looking For
We are seeking for a Senior Privacy Counsel who will lead and support legal and operational privacy work across Welltechโs global product ecosystem. Reporting into the Head of Product Legal & Regulatory Compliance and working closely with Product Legal, Engineering, Security, Analytics and Marketing teams, you will help drive scalable privacy compliance while enabling business innovation.
This is a hands-on, high-impact role for someone excited to shape privacy programs in a fast-paced and mission-driven environment.
Key responsibilities:
- Serve as a subject matter expert on global privacy laws (e.g. GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, FTC privacy regulations, LGPD), providing clear, practical guidance to product, marketing, and analytics teams.
- Own and evolve privacy-by-design reviews for new products, features, and data initiatives.
- Develop and maintain internal privacy resources (e.g. policies, playbooks, DPIAs, training materials).
- Collaborate with security and engineering on data governance, retention, and incident response.
- Oversee and support Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs) and data deletion requests at scale.
- Manage vendor privacy compliance and conduct privacy impact assessments on third-party integrations.
- Track regulatory developments and translate them into actionable advice and scalable processes.
- Partner cross-functionally to support compliant ad tech, health data handling, and international data transfers.
Required skills:
- 4+ years of experience in privacy / data protection law (legal or compliance background), with experience at a tech or digital consumer-facing company.
- Deep understanding of GDPR and other global privacy regimes.
- Understanding of CCPA/CPRA is a strong plus.
- Experience in operationalizing privacy programs, including DPIAs, cookie compliance, and user-facing disclosures.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills; able to influence product and engineering.
- Experience advising on the collection of customer data as it relates to AI, algorithms, and workflows.
- Comfortable working independently and in fast-changing environments.
- CIPP/E, CIPP/US, or similar certification is a plus.
