Senior Bookkeeper (Remote – Philippines) | Australian Bookkeeping Firm
Are you an experienced Bookkeeper who loves working with numbers, managing multiple clients, and keeping financial systems running smoothly? We’re hiring a Senior Bookkeeper with strong Xero and Excel skills to support a growing Australian bookkeeping firm.
 
The Opportunity at a Glance
We’re looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Bookkeeper to join a trusted Australian bookkeeping firm. This is a full-time, remote position based in the Philippines, under a proper local employment setup (not freelance or project-based).
To be successful, you must have at least 3+ years of bookkeeping experience within an Australian bookkeeping, accounting firm or public practice, managing multiple clients at once. You’ll be highly proficient in Xero and Excel, possess a solid understanding of Australian compliance standards, and be able to work independently while maintaining clear communication with clients.
As part of our hiring process, shortlisted candidates will undergo two assessment tests to evaluate technical skills and attention to detail.
 
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping operations for multiple Australian clients
 
- Process Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) efficiently and accurately
 
- Record and reconcile transactions across Xero, ensuring financial accuracy and compliance
 
- Enter bills, receipts, and supporting documents using Hubdoc or similar software
 
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and payroll journals to maintain clean ledgers
 
- Prepare Trial Balances, financial reports, and assist with BAS preparation and lodgements
 
- Build and manage detailed spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets (formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP)
 
- Track workflow tasks using ClickUp or other project management tools
 
- Communicate directly with clients and internal teams to ensure deadlines are met and files remain compliant
 
- Follow Pure Bookkeeping System processes for consistency and accuracy
 
 
What We’re Looking For – You’re the Perfect Fit if You:
- Have 3+ years of bookkeeping experience within an Australian bookkeeping, accounting firm or public practice
 
- Are highly proficient in Xero and confident managing multiple accounts simultaneously
 
- Possess advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills (pivot tables, formulas, and data analysis)
 
- Have strong knowledge of GST, BAS, ATO compliance, and Australian payroll processes
 
- Are organised, reliable, and comfortable working independently in a remote setup
 
- Communicate clearly, professionally, and proactively with both clients and colleagues

Work Schedule & Employment Terms
