Residential & Consumer Underwriter

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Residential & Consumer Underwriter based in the United States. As a Residential & Consumer Underwriter, you will evaluate consumer and residential mortgage applications and make informed credit recommendations in a regulated banking environment. You will assess borrower creditworthiness, repayment capacity, collateral, and overall risk while applying sound underwriting judgment. The role covers a broad portfolio of consumer lending products as well as conventional and portfolio residential mortgage loans. You will work with complex financial profiles, multiple properties, and sophisticated borrower situations requiring detailed analysis and thoughtful decision-making. You will also help identify potential fraud, credit weaknesses, policy exceptions, and emerging risks while maintaining strong regulatory and documentation standards.
