Principal Software Development Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Principal Software Development Engineer based in India. This is an expert-level engineering role focused on shaping the architecture, technical direction, and quality of a flagship online product. You will work within a small, high-trust engineering team and influence significant architectural decisions across a complex software platform. The role combines hands-on development with technical leadership, strategic research, mentoring, and engineering practice improvements. You will help drive a major modernization initiative, including the development of new AI-powered product capabilities. Working closely with Product, Architecture, QA, Marketing, and other stakeholders, you will translate business and technical requirements into scalable solutions.
