Principal Backend Architect / Engineer (C#/.NET, Azure)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Principal Backend Architect / Engineer (C#/.NET, Azure) based in Brazil. This is a senior, hands-on architecture role focused on shaping the backend foundation of multiple products and guiding the evolution of a large-scale platform. You will define server-side architecture while leading the incremental transformation of a monolith into well-bounded services. The role combines deep C#/.NET and Azure expertise with event-driven architecture, API design, data access, and DevOps practices. You will establish engineering standards, reusable platform capabilities, and robust service contracts. You will also champion the practical use of agentic AI tools in everyday software development and help raise the technical capabilities of the wider team. Working closely with architects and engineers, you will influence technical decisions while continuing to design, code, review, and build solutions yourself.
