About the Role The Payroll and Benefits Accountant is responsible for the accurate accounting, reconciliation, reporting, and control of payroll, employee benefits, payroll taxes, and related liabilities. This role partners closely with Human Resources, and third-party vendors to ensure employees are paid accurately and on time; benefit deductions and employer contributions are properly recorded; and payroll-related financial information is complete, timely, compliant, and audit-ready. The position maintains payroll and benefits balance-sheet accounts, prepares payroll journal entries and reconciliations, supports payroll-tax and benefit-plan reporting, investigates variances, and assists with process improvements and internal-control initiatives.
