Lead Software Engineer (.NET)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Lead Software Engineer (.NET) based in Portugal. This role offers the opportunity to lead a major modernization initiative within a globally distributed engineering environment. You will take ownership of the transition from a legacy monolithic architecture toward scalable microservices, guiding the process from analysis through production release. As a technical leader, you will influence architecture, resolve complex backend and data challenges, and help ensure reliable delivery. You will collaborate closely with Product and Architecture teams to translate business requirements into realistic technical plans. Beyond hands-on engineering, you will strengthen team processes, delivery discipline, quality practices, and engineering performance. You will also play an important people leadership role through coaching, feedback, and career development.
