Director of Internal IT

Company

Orcrist is building a next generation data intelligence platform using cutting-edge technologies. We’re handling petabyte-scale data with sub-second queries. Our product is delivered as B2B SaaS or as a self‑hosted on‑prem solution, including air‑gapped deployments. We enable customers across defense, law enforcement, and enterprise to turn mission-critical data into actionable intelligence.

Role

As Director of  internal IT, you’ll lead Orcrist’s Internal IT function and ensure our team can do their best work with reliable devices, seamless access to tools, and secure-by-default internal systems. You’ll build the strategy and operating model for end-user computing, identity and access, internal SaaS administration, and IT service delivery—partnering closely with Security, Platform/Engineering, People Ops, and Workplace.

This is a leadership role with hands-on ownership: you’ll set standards, build scalable workflows, and jump in when critical issues require strong technical judgment.

What you'll do

  • Lead the Internal IT team and scale it through hiring, coaching, and clear operational ownership.
  • Own onboarding and offboarding end-to-end (devices, accounts, access, asset recovery) with a focus on automation.
  • Run identity and access management across corporate systems (SSO/IdP, MFA, groups/roles, least privilege, access reviews).
  • Define and enforce endpoint standards for macOS/Windows/Linux (MDM, encryption, patching, EDR, hardening baselines).
  • Own the employee hardware lifecycle: procurement, provisioning, repairs, replacements, returns, and secure disposal.
  • Administer and secure core internal SaaS tooling (accounts, permissions, configurations, licenses).
  • Build a high-quality IT service desk experience (SLAs/SLOs, knowledge base/runbooks, self-service automation).
  • Own office IT fundamentals where applicable (Wi‑Fi, meeting rooms/AV, secure guest access).
  • Partner with Security on incident readiness (device isolation, access resets, evidence collection, post-incident hardening).
  • Manage vendors and budgets (hardware standards, renewals, license optimization).

About you

  • You’ve led Internal IT / IT Operations teams and owned outcomes in a modern, fast-moving tech environment.
  • You have strong hands-on experience with identity and access (SSO/IdP, MFA, RBAC/group design, least privilege).
  • You’ve run endpoint management at scale (MDM/UEM, encryption, patching, EDR, OS baselines) across macOS and at least one of Windows/Linux.
