About Semarchy

Semarchy was founded in 2011 in Lyon, France, by a group of former colleagues from Sunopsis before it was acquired by Oracle. This team came together to build a people-first company, to develop a more agile approach to master data management. And so Semarchy – a mashup of semantic hierarchy – was born.

As a leader in the data integration and master data management markets, we enable organizations to rapidly generate business value from their data. Our Unified Data Platform enables organizations of any size, to quickly discover, govern, manage, integrate, and report critical information scattered across applications.

We are a true international company with a globally inclusive office/hybrid and remote work environment with locations in France, United States, London, and India.

About the role

This is not your typical BDR role. We're looking for an elite performer who thrives on cold calling, leverages AI strategically, and has experience selling to technical personas in enterprise environments.

As our Business Development Representative, you will be the tip of the spear for Semarchy's growth engine, focusing on high-value enterprise prospects. You'll combine traditional outbound excellence with cutting-edge AI tools to create compelling, personalized outreach that converts technical decision-makers.

What Makes You Different

We're seeking a rare combination of skills:

  • Cold calling mastery - You live and breathe phone conversations. Rejection energizes you. Success = connected conversations, not call volume. Calls are just a means.

  • AI-powered strategy - You already use LLMs (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, etc.) to research prospects, craft messaging, and think through complex sales scenarios. Bonus points if you have used A.I. agents.

  • Technical selling experience - You've successfully engaged CTOs, CDOs, engineering leaders, and technical buyers in enterprise sales cycles

  • Creative outbound approach - You find unique ways to break through the noise and capture attention

Semarchy seeks a candidate who is a go-getter, self-motivated, well organized, and adaptable to change with:

  • Ownership, grit, and coachability: takes responsibility, learns fast from feedback, and operates with integrity and a growth mindset.

  • Clear communicator with strong process discipline: concise writing and active listening; rigorous prospecting/qualification, objection handling, time management, and a stickler for CRM hygiene.

  • Curious and commercially savvy: connects product to business outcomes; comfortable discussing master data management/data governance; collaborates tightly with AE/Marketing; fluent with modern sales tools.

  • A high comfort level with working remotely as part of a distributed team

Job requirements

Must-Have Experience

  • 2+ years of experience in business/sales development roles with enterprise focus

  • Proven track record selling to technical personas (CTOs, VPs of Engineering, Data Architects, CDOs, etc.)

  • Demonstrated experience with territory planning, management, and strategies

  • Demonstrated success with cold calling and phone-based prospecting

  • Demonstrated experience in building omni-channel prospecting strategies

  • Experience using AI tools for strategic sales activities (research, messaging, objection handling)

Core Competencies

  • Phone mastery: Ability to qualify, pre-call plan, structure and control cold calls with senior executives

  • Strategic messaging: Use LLMs to understand your prospect and their business, and to connect Semarchy’s value proposition with your prospect's specific needs and priorities.

  • Technical translation: The ability to grasp complex data management concepts and explain them simply to prospects to quickly gain their trust.

  • Multi-threading expertise: Navigate complex organizational structures and buying committees

  • Creative outbound: Design and execute innovative prospecting campaigns
