What You Will Do:
As an Associate Director on the North Energy Providers team within the Guidehouse Communities, Energy & Infrastructure (CE&I) segment, you will have responsibility for development of project results and client management on large engagements. You will own the delivery of projects and significant project workstreams and interact regularly with the clients to ensure engagement success. This includes supporting/leading day-to-day internal team meetings and coordinating/facilitating meetings with clients and their stakeholders. You will be expected to prepare and communicate well-organized, effective reports and presentations to clients. You will lead proposal efforts for clients and be expected to contribute to the growth of our existing portfolio. You will lead, coach, and mentor others on the team to ensure quality analysis and deliverables. We are looking for someone with a passion for creative problem solving, client service, and project management.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing teams responsible to provide detailed, research, and analysis on energy-related activities and business operations (particularly energy efficiency, grid modernization, renewable energy, customer programs, new business models, marketing and communications, customer research, reliability/resiliency)
Maintaining and strengthening existing client relationships and workstreams
Developing and presenting findings and recommended plans of action directly to clients
Performing, advising, and reviewing technical and business research, benchmarking, analyses and other work products of the project team
Depending on projects, you will assess emerging industry trends, manage data collection activities, or develop and assess strategies for utility programs aimed at increasing customer engagement, improving business operations, enhancing customer experience, increasing program adoption, reducing peak demand, or building grid flexibility and resiliency
Leading the facilitation of workshops and working sessions between client departments and third-party organizations; review and approve meeting content, drive discussion towards consensus
Providing detailed fact finding, research, and analysis on energy-related activities
Communicating solutions and new strategies to clients through reports and presentations
Contributing to sales of new work
Developing and managing a portfolio of project budgets and resource plans
What You Will Need:
Due to nature of client engagements, US Citizenship restrictions may apply; No Sponsorship available
Bachelor’s degree in an engineering, design, business, economics, policy, environmental, science and/or related discipline
A minimum of 7 years of relevant industry or consulting experience excluding internships, co-ops, fellowships and academic research
Demonstrated experience leading teams
Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills
Proficiency with data analysis
Ability to assume ownership of significant portions of tasks while collaborating with a close-knit team
An inquisitive nature and desire for continuous improvement
Superior interpersonal skills
Ability to collaborate as a part of team, as well as to work independently
Ability to manage several tasks simultaneously, prioritize and plan work activities while meeting respective deadlines.
Strong organizational and management skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills particularly in communicating across business and technical teams and with regulatory representatives
Ability to travel as needed
Must currently reside in the USA

What Would Be Nice To Have:
Master’s degree in an engineering, business, economics
Advanced level proficiency experience with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft PowerPoint
Knowledge and experience in industry topics such as: long-range planning, emerging technology including Grid modernization, DERs, AI, Stakeholder & Regulatory Strategy, transformational programs planning and execution
Understanding of business, project, and program management fundamentals
Attention to detail in all prior experience (academic and professional)
Experience developing and delivering presentations to executive audiences
Excellent at visualizing data, synthesizing insights, and storytelling
A history of successful, creative problem-solving
Excitement to explore the underlying cause of the observation/result
