We are hiring a senior AI / Automation Engineer to join a founding team building intelligent systems that transform complex government data into actionable insights. This is a high-ownership role where you will work directly with the CTO and take full responsibility for major product features from architecture to deployment.
You will design and implement AI-driven systems that ingest, structure, and analyze large datasets, enabling automation and personalized intelligence at scale. This role is ideal for a builder who thrives in early-stage environments and prefers shipping quickly over waiting for perfection.
This is a remote role based in Latin America, supporting a U.S.-based company.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable data pipelines to ingest, process, and structure large volumes of government contracting data
- Develop AI agents and automation systems that deliver actionable insights to end users
- Integrate and optimize large language models for summarization, opportunity extraction, personalization, and recommendations
- Architect and improve backend systems that support speed, accuracy, and personalization
- Own major product features end-to-end, from system design to deployment
- Collaborate directly with leadership to scope, prioritize, and ship features rapidly
- Continuously improve performance, reliability, and data quality across AI systems
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in backend or AI engineering roles
- Strong proficiency in Python
- Hands-on experience working with large language models, including API integrations, prompt engineering, RAG, fine-tuning, or agent frameworks
- Experience building and maintaining data pipelines using real-world, messy datasets
- Solid experience with AWS and cloud-based infrastructure
- Ability to work independently with high ownership and minimal direction
- Builder mindset with a bias toward action and iteration
- English proficiency C1 or C2
- Based in Latin America
- Availability to overlap at least 4 hours with U.S. Eastern Time
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with U.S. federal contracting data or related workflows
- Familiarity with platforms such as SAM.gov http://SAM.gov, FPDS, USAspending, or GovWin
- Experience building products in the government technology space
- Exposure to low-code or no-code tools such as Airtable
Success Metrics: First 3β6 Months
- Successfully architect and deploy at least one major AI-powered feature into production
- Improve data pipeline reliability and processing speed
- Launch AI-driven automations that increase user value and personalization
- Demonstrate ownership over core backend and AI systems with minimal oversight
