Description

UnitedLex is seeking a forward-thinking, execution-driven VP, AI Strategy & Innovation to lead the strategic integration of AI across service lines. The VP of AI & Innovation will be responsible for driving the AI strategy for the business in conjunction with the senior leadership team, and the SVP, GTM. This role will be both client facing and market facing.  This is a unique opportunity to help shape the future of UnitedLex by turning the potential of AI into real-world outcomes—driving efficiency, enhancing our solution offerings, and creating meaningful market differentiation.  This role combines technical expertise in artificial intelligence with business leadership and a customer-first mindset to ensure our AI offerings are aligned with client goals, while delivering them in a repeatable manner. 

REQUIREMENTS & COMPETENCIES: 

  • J.D. or equivalent  
  • 10+ years in legal industry with strong focus and proficiency in legal technology and AI-driven solutions  
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and executive stakeholder management skills 
  • Strategic thinker with operational discipline and a passion for solving real-world ground-breaking problems for legal through AI 
  • Develop content for clients, sales training, and market facing in PowerPoint or other formats 
  • Team player and collaborator  

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • As a senior leader, contribute a strategic, collaborative, and enterprise-wide skillset and mindset to drive sustainable, profitable business growth 
  • Lead the evaluation of third-party AI tools and potential use cases 
  • Guide and develop AI roadmap for translating vision into prioritized plans for operational impact 
  • Work closely with solutions leaders in all business lines to incorporate AI into solutions, and work cross- functionally with operations, delivery, product development, infosec, and others  
  • Present to clients on the UnitedLex AI strategy and specific solutions as needed.  
  • Understand client business objectives, pain points, and success criteria, translating them into a roadmap of differentiated AI-powered strategy that underpins new solutions 
  • Define and oversee a structured prioritization framework that aligns solution development with customer impact, urgency, technical feasibility, and market opportunity 
  • Keep abreast of leading trends in technologies, including agentic AI, GenAI, and LLMs 
  • Influence both short-term wins and long-term transformation. 
  • Represent UnitedLex as a thought leader in the market on AI topics and participate in webinars, media content, articles, blogs and other marketing driven content.

Salary Range

The salary range for this role reflects the range of factors that inform case-by-case compensation decisions including education, experience, training, licensure, certification, and geography as well as the business and organizational needs specific to the role. Compensation ranges may be broad, reflecting flexibility within the budget and title to consider candidates of varied experience. A reasonable estimate of the current annualized compensation range for this role is $140,000-$225,000/year. Select roles are additionally eligible for Incentive Compensation in the form of our Annual Performance Bonus Program.
