  • Analyze and manage underwriting risk across a portfolio of group insurance clients, balancing financial discipline with customer needs.
  • Prepare detailed quotation submissions, including financial analysis, questionnaires, and complex plan structures.
  • Provide ongoing account management support, responding to client requests related to pricing, benefit changes, and plan adjustments.
  • Lead contract negotiations covering financial arrangements, service standards, and benefit design provisions.
  • Support onboarding of new clients by designing and implementing appropriate group benefit structures and ensuring smooth transition processes.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to align administrative capabilities and plan designs with underwriting and client requirements.
  • Contribute to improved operational performance and long-term portfolio profitability through data-driven decision-making.

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education in business, mathematics, actuarial science, or a related analytical discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience in group benefits underwriting or a related professional risk management role.
  • Strong understanding of the group insurance market, products, and underwriting principles.
  • Proven ability to assess risk, evaluate financial implications, and make balanced underwriting decisions.
  • Excellent analytical skills with strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex financial and technical concepts to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience working with sales teams and supporting client-facing negotiations.
  • Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines.
  • Bilingualism in French and English is considered an asset.
  • CEBS or GBA certification is an advantage.

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary ranging from CAD $70,500 to $117,500, based on experience and location.
  • Eligibility for incentive programs tied to individual and business performance.
  • Comprehensive health, dental, vision, and mental health coverage.
  • Retirement savings plans including pension and employer-matched contributions.
  • Paid time off including vacation, personal days, sick days, and statutory holidays.
  • Life, disability, and AD&D insurance coverage.
  • Flexible remote work arrangements supporting work-life balance.
  • Wellness programs, employee assistance plans, and professional development support.
  • Inclusive and diverse work environment with strong emphasis on equity and accessibility.
