You will be managing Kingfisher’s IT infrastructure, ensuring performance through expertise in systems, virtualization, scripting, networking, storage, and security.

As a Server Platforms and Operating Systems Engineer, you will focus on managing and maintaining the infrastructure that supports Kingfisher’s IT systems, including servers, virtualization platforms, and various operating systems. This role requires expertise in various tasks, including system administration, security, troubleshooting, and developing automated solutions.

• Installing, configuring, and maintaining operating systems on servers, including patching, security updates, and performance tuning.
• Installing, configuring, and maintaining, including patching, security updates, and performance tuning
• Identifying and resolving system issues, monitoring server performance, and ensuring optimal system uptime.
• Developing and implementing automation solutions to streamline tasks and improve efficiency.
• Working with other teams and external vendors to ensure seamless integration and interoperability of systems.
• Implementing and maintaining security measures to protect servers and data from unauthorized access and threats.
• Maintaining accurate documentation of server configurations and processes.

With a strong grasp of operating systems and virtualization, this candidate excels in managing diverse IT environments. Proficient in scripting and automation, they streamline processes efficiently. Their knowledge of networking and storage ensures robust data management and secure networks. They possess excellent problem-solving skills, can diagnose and resolve complex issues, and understand security best practices. Additionally, they work well both independently and collaboratively, demonstrating strong communication and teamwork abilities.

• Strong understanding of Windows, Linux, and ESXi.
• Strong understanding of virtualization technologies such as VMware and KVM.
• Proficiency in scripting languages like PowerShell and automation platforms like Ansible.
• Knowledge of storage technologies like fibre channel or iSCSI.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve complex system issues.
• Understanding of security principles and best practices.
