Senior Accounting Manager

We’re a fast-growing startup backed by top investors and are passionate about solving real-world problems for an essential industry.  We’re looking for a highly skilled and hands-on Senior Accounting Manager to build and lead our accounting function from the ground up. In this high-impact and autonomous role, you’ll be responsible for establishing scalable processes, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial data, and enabling operational excellence as we grow.

Responsibilities:

• Own the Full Accounting Cycle: Manage all day-to-day accounting activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close processes.
• General Ledger & Financial Reporting: Prepare and post journal entries, conduct detailed balance sheet reconciliations, and perform flux analyses (MoM, YoY).
• Revenue & Billing: Lead invoicing and collections, ensure compliance with ASC 606 for revenue recognition, and reconcile data between Stripe and our CRM.
• Accounts Payable & Expenses: Oversee vendor payments and employee expense reimbursements in partnership with People Operations.
• Payroll Oversight: Partner with People Operations to ensure accurate payroll processing, reconciliations, and accounting.
• Tax & Compliance: Coordinate with external advisors on tax filings, and support audit readiness and execution.
• Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and optimize accounting systems, workflows, and internal controls to support scale and efficiency.

Qualifications:

• Big 4 Public Accounting experience (required), followed by hands-on experience in a high-growth tech startup.
• Demonstrated ability to independently own and lead all aspects of an accounting function.
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, startup environment.
• Skilled at identifying gaps and building scalable, repeatable solutions.
• Strong communicator with the ability to partner cross-functionally, especially with Finance, People Ops, and Engineering teams.
