DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant with a strong background in Senior Living accounting. The ideal candidate will be responsible for full-cycle accounting across multiple senior living communities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with U.S. GAAP.
This role requires hands-on experience in multi-entity accounting, complex journal entries, resident billing, and a solid understanding of Senior Living operations, which involve higher complexity than standard residential or multifamily portfolios.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform full-cycle accounting for multiple Senior Living properties (including AR, AP, GL, accruals, and financial statements).
- Prepare and post journal entries related to monthly close, management fees, payroll allocations, utilities, and intercompany transactions.
- Manage and reconcile resident billing, move-ins/move-outs, and care-level adjustments.
- Review and analyze balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports for accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, company policies, and internal controls.
- Collaborate with property and regional teams to maintain accurate property-level financials.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Support audits by preparing detailed schedules and reconciliations.
- Identify and implement process improvements for efficiency and accuracy.
- Train and mentor junior accountants, ensuring consistent quality and adherence to accounting standards.
Requirements- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 5+ years of accounting experience, including at least 2 years in Senior Living or Healthcare real estate accounting.
- Proven experience with multi-entity full-cycle accounting.
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and month-end close processes.
- Hands-on experience with Yardi, Entrata, or similar property management software.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Advanced Excel and familiarity with ERP systems (QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, or similar).
- English: Advanced / professional level (daily communication with U.S. teams).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Senior Living, Healthcare, or Assisted Living industries.
- Experience preparing journal entries for high-volume, multi-site portfolios.
- Previous participation in process improvement or automation initiatives.
- Leadership experience or ability to train junior staff.
