About Job
The Lead Software Development Engineer will report to the Engineering Delivery Director, lead hands-on development and bug resolution efforts, particularly in security-critical areas like CodeDL and CredScan. This role involves managing and mentoring a development team, driving technical excellence, and fostering cross-team collaboration with global stakeholders. The engineer will also champion quality, process improvements, and innovation through best practices, automation, and strategic planning.
Technical Leadership & Development
- Contribute hands-on to service-side and on-prem development, coding, and bug investigations/fixes.
- Work on critical security-related bugs (e.g., CodeDL, CG, CredScan, SFI), ensuring timely resolution and compliance with organizational standards.
- Lead and participate in IcM investigation, triage, troubleshooting, and develop clear troubleshooting guidelines and playbooks for the team.
- Work with the dev team to investigate new Configuration Manager bugs filed by the test team or customers within a reasonable timeframe. Provide guidance to the dev team in creating PRs and fix product issues directly.
- Drive high-quality code contributions through design reviews, code reviews, and establishing best practices.
Team Management & Enablement
- Ramp up and manage the MA development team, ensuring effective task distribution and ownership of deliverables.
- Mentor, coach, and train developers to improve their technical and problem-solving skills.
- Proactively unblock developers by providing technical guidance and removing organizational or process barriers.
- Set up regular knowledge-sharing sessions and encourage continuous learning to strengthen the teamβs capabilities.
Cross-Team Collaboration
- Act as one of the main points of contact with the FTE team in Redmond, ensuring smooth alignment and information flow.
- Coordinate with vendor leads in India to drive consistency in execution, priorities, and deliverables.
- Represent the vendor team in technical discussions, planning sessions, and joint reviews with partner teams.
Quality, Process, and Innovation
- Establish and enforce development best practices, including secure coding, performance optimization, and testability.
- Track and report progress, quality metrics, and team contributions to stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements in the development and bug investigation workflow.
- Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and innovation within the team.
