The Humane League (THL) is a global nonprofit ending the abuse of animals raised for food. THL fosters a high-energy culture of teamwork and mission-driven problem solving, and we have earned recognition as Top Charity from Animal Charity Evaluators for all of their rating periods. Over the past few years, we’ve grown to a staff of 100+ talented individuals dispersed around the world. At THL, how animals are treated in the food system is at the forefront of our everyday work. We welcome all mission-aligned candidates to apply, no matter where you are in your journey to end the abuse of animals raised for food.
As the Editorial Content Lead on the THL Studios team, you will serve as a lead writer and editor responsible for THL’s content—translating our strategy into high-impact storytelling that advances our mission to end the abuse of animals raised for food and gives our work the strongest possible representation.
This role sits at the center of campaign and development storytelling. You will take ownership of complex, high-stakes content projects such as campaign reports, donor communications, and multi-page digital experiences, ensuring they are clear, persuasive, and aligned with organizational goals. By centralizing this writing expertise within THL Studios, this role will increase capacity across teams and strengthen the quality, consistency, and effectiveness of our external communications.
You will work across formats and audiences, from long-form reports to conversion-focused web content, shaping narratives that drive campaign wins as well as motivate people to take action, donate, and deepen their engagement with our work. Success in this role requires strong editorial judgment, the ability to synthesize complex ideas without sacrificing nuance, and a proactive approach to identifying opportunities to improve how we communicate our mission. This role reports to the Associate Director of Editorial and collaborates closely with Campaigns, Development, Digital Mobilization, and Creative teams.
Please note that this role involves working with content that depicts cruel practices, in service of exposing and ending animal abuse.
This is a full-time, remote position based in the United States. The successful candidate must be authorized to work in and reside in the United States while undertaking this role. This position may include optional domestic and/or international travel, equivalent to 1 or more trips per year. Because THL is a global organization, you may be required to work occasional hours outside of 9am - 5pm, depending on your time zone.
