We are seeking a Director of Information Technology to lead and oversee all IT operations within a growing engineering and consulting environment. The ideal candidate will drive the strategic development and implementation of IT systems, ensuring security, efficiency, and scalability as the company expands. This role offers the opportunity to manage a hybrid team, collaborate across departments, and shape the technology landscape to support organizational growth from approximately 100 to 500+ employees. You will act as a hands-on leader, managing core systems, optimizing infrastructure, and establishing best practices while fostering relationships with vendors and stakeholders. This position combines operational oversight with strategic planning, offering a key role in the organization’s continued success.

Accountabilities

  • Lead and manage all IT operations, ensuring efficient, secure, and scalable systems across the organization.
  • Develop and implement IT strategies, policies, and business continuity protocols to support company objectives and minimize operational risks.
  • Analyze IT infrastructure and systems performance, providing recommendations for improvement, cost management, and productivity optimization.
  • Oversee the security of networks, systems, and enterprise data, and facilitate IT security audits as required.
  • Manage vendor relationships and coordinate multi-site IT systems through enterprise resource planning (ERP).
  • Provide hands-on management of core systems and lead the department’s growth in line with company expansion.
  • Travel occasionally for project or operational requirements (approximately 15% annually).


Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field required; Master’s or MBA preferred. Equivalent work experience may be considered.
  • Proven experience managing an IT department and leading technical teams.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Domain management, SQL Server, and database administration.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including SharePoint, OneDrive, Planner, Power BI, and other IT management tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong understanding of IT systems, infrastructure, and practical applications to support business goals.
  • Preferred certifications: Project Management, ITIL, SDLC.
  • Experience with cloud-based applications, vendor management, Jira/Confluence, and PowerShell technologies.
