Our client is seeking a technically grounded executive leader with extensive experience in software development, artificial intelligence, and modern data engineering to serve as Chief Innovation Officer – AI & Data. This role calls for a strategic visionary who remains deeply fluent in today’s evolving technical landscape, capable of setting long-term direction, leading cross-functional teams, and engaging meaningfully in both architecture and execution.
This executive will lead the organization’s AI and data engineering strategy, ensuring that innovation is aligned with business objectives. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in development, a progressive understanding of the AI landscape from data science to generative and agentic AI, and a proven track record of building and scaling high-performing technical teams.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead and mentor data and AI teams, providing technical guidance and ensuring high-quality output

Evaluate and review code, data pipelines, and models to ensure performance, scalability, and accuracy

Stay current with advancements in AI, including GenAI, Agentic AI, machine learning, and data science applications

Oversee and guide the implementation of modern data warehousing solutions using tools such as Snowflake, Azure Synapse, or similar platforms

Maintain a hands-on perspective in Python-based environments (e.g., PyCharm, PySpark) and contribute to strategic decisions regarding architecture and tooling

Collaborate with stakeholders to align AI and data initiatives with broader business goals
Qualifications:

10 to 15+ years experience in software or data engineering with a deep understanding of modern development practices and technologies

Demonstrated leadership experience guiding and scaling technical teams across AI, data engineering, and analytics functions

Expertise in both legacy data warehousing methodologies and modern cloud-based platforms such as Snowflake, Synapse, or equivalent

Proficiency in Python and strong familiarity with widely used AI and data libraries including Pandas, NumPy, and PySpark

A proven track record of evolving alongside the AI landscape, with working knowledge spanning predictive analytics, data science, and generative AI

Strong ability to evaluate technical work, influence architectural decisions, and ensure excellence across engineering and data science teams

Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field strongly preferred
