DescriptionWe are looking for a Bookkeeper - Accountant Level who will be responsible for maintaining financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring the accuracy of financial information for a business. This role requires a deeper understanding of accounting principles than a standard bookkeeper, including handling more complex financial tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Recordkeeping:
- Maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger entries, reconciliations, and accounts payable/receivable.
- Manage bank and credit card reconciliations.
- Financial Reporting:
- Prepare financial statements such as balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow reports.
- Assist in creating monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management and stakeholders.
- Tax Preparation and Compliance:
- Assist in tax return preparation by organizing financial data and preparing documentation for external accountants.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax laws, filing necessary forms.
- Accounts Management:
- Oversee accounts receivable and payable, ensuring timely billing and collections.
- Monitor and manage payroll, expense reimbursements, and other financial obligations.
- Auditing and Internal Controls:
- Assist in auditing processes by providing accurate financial data and supporting documents.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to ensure accuracy and compliance with financial regulations.
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Support the preparation of company budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
- Provide analysis and insights to management regarding financial performance and areas for improvement.
Requirements - Experience: 3-5 years of bookkeeping/accounting experience, preferably in a senior or accountant-level role.
- Software Proficiency: Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or SAP, along with proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to maintain accurate financial records and handle complex data analysis.
- Knowledge of GAAP: Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and relevant financial regulations.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Bookkeeper (CB) designation is a plus.
