We’re excited about building out our finance and accounting department and are seeking a versatile, adaptable and collaborative Accounting Senior Manager joining our highly skilled team.

As the Accounting Senior Manager, you will be responsible for the supervision of accounting staff including the training, assigning, and directing the workflow of the staff. You will have a high degree of communication to internal and external customers. You will have the opportunity to effect change by seeking out process improvement opportunities including maximizing the ERP and other automation tools while adhering to SOX requirements. You will utilize your accounting knowledge and experience to ensure best practices and standards are met on a regular basis as Porch builds its internal processes. This role will support a variety of accounting and analytical work, and you will gain valuable experience growing a young company. What You Will Do As An Accounting Senior Manager 

  • Work independently, performing professional accounting activities related to general accounting, revenue recognition, operational accounting, etc.   
  • In addition to controlling, monitoring and reviewing accounts to ensure accuracy, proper documentation, and compliance with all pertinent procedures and regulations, proactively identify trends and recommend cost savings or revenue generating ideas; review financial reports and statements and make recommendations based on best industry practice; apply audit techniques and practices to ensure the integrity and accuracy of recorded financial information.   
  • Work proactively and reviews the work performed by staff including but not limited to invoices, vendor detail, journal entries, and account reconciliations.   
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly journal entries and account reconciliations as assigned.    
  • Review and analyze financial data and assist with preparing monthly and quarterly financial reports.   
  • Support management with ad hoc requests.    
  • Partner with managers and internal teams to maintain processes and controls related to assigned areas of work.   
  • Participate in the annual, quarterly, and monthly process with both external and internal audit teams.   
  • Ensure compliance with all internal policies, relevant regulations, and accounting principles.   
  • Work on significant and unique issues where analysis of situations or data requires evaluation of intangibles.   
  • Work independently through problems that are ambiguous in nature.   
  • Exercise independent judgment in methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.   
  • Exercise wide latitude in determining objectives and approaches to critical assignments.   
  • Demonstrate expertise across multiple functions or unique knowledge.   
  • Identify and capitalize on new opportunities to impact results.  


What You Will Bring As An Accounting Senior Manager  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, and/or Master’s degree in Finance or Accounting 
  • Minimum of 8 years’ work experience in a corporate finance setting, with a proven track record of working in high-performing teams. 
  • 2+ years’ work experience managing a team.     
  • Deep IFRS15 or ASC 606 experience.  
  • Exceptional understanding of US GAAP and IFRS. 
  • Demonstrated wide-ranging experience in job responsibilities with multiple examples of achieving results and showing significant progress in changing environments.  
  • Experience in several cycles in senior accounting roles and ability to apply the associated learnings from time in roles.  
  • Ability to act independently and determine new methods and procedures on new assignments.   
  • High degree of proficiency in general ledger system and other reporting tools and can coach others. Have a deep understanding of accounting processes and controls.  
  • Evidence of achieving results within ambiguous environments.  
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities - ability to analyze complex information and reach clear, concise conclusions.   
  • Strong communication skills - effective at soliciting information and cooperation at all levels of the organization.   
  • Strong organizational skills coupled with the ability to manage multiple projects at the same time.    
  • Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining the highest standards of completeness and accuracy.   
  • A collaborative, customer-centric approach with the ability to work with business units, accounting, and finance functions.   
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word & PowerPoint).   
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, virtual environment requiring self-motivation and adaptability.   
  • Prior NetSuite and FloQast experience a plus. 
  • Work closely and effectively with other departments within the company to identify solutions and support new business opportunities  
  • Design and document procedures as well as update existing procedures that align with Company initiatives and long-term growth strategies 
  • Work closely and effectively with other departments within the company to identify solutions and support new business opportunities. 
  • Experience as a SOX control owner is preferred. 
  • Experience with system implementations and roll outs. 
  • Able to work independently and with a team in a fast paced, high-volume environment with competing priorities

What You Will Get As A Porch Group Team Member 

Pay Range*: $110,000.00 - $147,000.00 Annually

*Please know your actual pay at Porch will reflect a number of factors among which are your work experience and skillsets, job-related knowledge, alignment with market and our Porch employees, as well as your geographic location.  
 
Additionally, you will be eligible to receive long-term incentive awards, subject to program guidelines and approvals.
